Abstract
Recently, many hospitals of medical institutions are experiencing a lot of difficulties in dealing with the problems happening from the long-term hospitalization. However, the health care delivery system, for the patients with long-term hospitalization, which is provided by the health insurance is not active in lower health care institutions. Therefore, this inactivity increases the public health expenditures, while decreasing the hospital bed turnoverrate, thus interfering the efficient operation of medical institutions. In addition, it is considered to be the social phenomenon consequent on the loss of trust between the health care organizations and the public. The problems related to unnecessary hospitalization of patients on long-term admission will be discussed along with the countermeasures.
